The 2023 Loo of the Year Awards took place on January 12th and we are delighted to share our success from this year’s event. These awards are recognised as the ‘National Standard’ for non-residential washrooms and reward those who maintain these standards to the highest level. Entries are fully assessed by judges against a checklist of over 100 pieces of criteria and are then graded using levels Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, and Diamond. The judges cover both male and female facilities, as well as baby changing, accessible, changing areas, and hygiene rooms.
We were thrilled to be named a National Winner under the External Contractor category for the Wales region. Our colleagues at Cineworld and Vue have done tremendous work to achieve this award. They took home 5 Platinum Plus and 12 Platinum Certificates across a number of their sites following the judge’s inspection.
In retail, our team at Kingfisher Shopping Centre took home an overall Platinum Certification for the standards they have kept in their washrooms. We had further success as our team at Wulfrun Shopping Centre also took home a Platinum Certificate. A huge well done to Andrew Olden and his team
Bidvest Noonan’s team at the Science Museum also achieved Platinum Certification within the Heritage category for the work they do to keep their washrooms clean. A great result given the high footfall the site encounters throughout the year.
Our team at Standard Chartered can be proud as they were awarded a very impressive Platinum Plus Certificate for the standards they have maintained throughout the last twelve months. A big scoop for Andrew Simpson, Lance Purser, and the whole team.
Our business was also presented with the Champions League Standards of Excellence award. This is rewarded to organisations with eight or more entries and five or more winners of Platinum and Platinum Plus Awards. Judges award this to businesses that maintain a consistently high standard of management in all their Loo of the Year Award entries.
On the back of our achievements, Bidvest Noonan’s Director of Operations, Jenny Jones, commented – “This year we achieved great success at the Loo of the Year Awards. These awards recognise those that maintain the highest possible standards in washrooms away from home, and our teams have done just that! I am proud of my colleagues and their accomplishments, and delighted that the hard work they do on a daily basis has been rewarded.”
